Facial Care and Last Minute Gift Ideas!
One of my goals for the upcoming year is to continue to improve my skin care. Between weird post-pregnancy hormones, the exhaustion and stress of being a mom and just life in general, I’ve had more breakouts and frustration with my face in the past couple of years than I’ve had in a long time.
This year, I already took some positive steps, like using Mary Kay’s Timewise face care set, using better makeup and allowing myself makeup-free days. I think those things have all had their benefits, but I’m still not fully happy with the way my skin is looking. As we end 2017 and begin 2018 another thing I am starting to incorporate into my routine is using more face masks! I have tried both DIY and store-bought masks with a variety of results. I made a matcha and honey mask that was just the best! It was refreshing and brightening! And then I tried a baking soda mask that felt like it burned my face off and left red splotches EVERYWHERE. It was freaking awful. Not long after my decision to implement more face masks into my skincare routine, I had the opportunity to try a box of Kroger’s new spa line face masks and eye care products for free, thanks to MyMagazine! Talk about perfect timing! I was sent the Hydrate, Deep Clean and Exfoliate sheet masks, as well as the brighten Under Eye Care package. I’ve tried all except the Hydrate mask, and I really like them all! My absolute favorite was the under eye treatment. It’s AMAZING. The combo of the gel and ingredients felt incredible! It felt cooling and when I took them off, those Mom bags seemed brighter and my skin more toned. My favorite mask was the Deep Clean. While it was on, I could feel it working deeply into my skin, and it seemed to clean out my pores incredibly well!
Because this is an honest review, I will say that the one thing I have had trouble with is how much liquid they have in them. I love how moist they are, but when you peel the backing off, they are literally dripping with liquid, which can make it kind of difficult to get it to stick how you want it to on your face. However, I’d rather have that problem than end up with them being far too dry! From what I’ve experienced so far, I really love these products. I truly think they have helped brighten and tone my skin more. I still have issues with breakouts, but at this point, I definitely think that’s more of a hormonal thing than anything else. Oh! As an added bonus, they have many natural ingredients in them!
If you’re looking for a last minute Christmas gift for someone who needs to slow down and enjoy some self-care, run to your nearest Kroger and grab some of their new spa products to put together a spa basket! Wouldn’t that be the sweetest gift?
