To the Woman Who Loved

A recent poem I wrote.

Inspired, not by my personal experience,

but by the experience of someone I care for,

and the many other women like her.

To the women who loved...

You can see in her eyes

she is weary

and worn.

The love she thought was real

was built on secrets

and lies.

Manipulation,

broken trust,

a facade.

Heart broken,

soul crushed,

she is a skeleton

of who she once was.

But,

this is not the end for her.

Beneath the exhaustion, the tired eyes

underneath the layers

of doubt and fear he created in her,

that left her weakened

and confused,

she is still there.

She is holding on.

She will find her strength once more

she will find her confidence once more

she will heal her weary soul

and she will thrive again.

Because grace covers all.
